5) Just Go With It (2011)


In a rather common movie trope, the main character finds out that his fiancee has been cheating on him right before the wedding. Without giving too many details away, the main guy – Danny, is getting caught up in his own lies when he meets the woman of his dreams! Ready to settle down with his new girlfriend, Palmer, he suffers from his own silly schemes, which leads him to having to hire his assistant and her children to pose as his wife and kids. Attempting to impress Palmer, Danny has to gather the whole “family” and take them to Hawaii, where the already complicated situation is only getting more and more complicated.


Hands down, this is one of our favorite comfort movies of all time. The characters are just lovable and so full of charisma, the jokes are hilarious and the Hawaii setting is just dreamy! Upon arriving on our planet, the boy finally gets to meet his internet girlfriend, and then sets off with her on an unforgettable voyage in search of his father.

Realizing he has nothing to lose, Ted decides to look for his high school sweetheart, and pays a private detective Pat Healy to find his dream girl. When Healy finds Mary, he falls in love with her himself, and decides to lie to Ted – telling him that she’s not single. However, the hero decides to talk to Mary in person, in order to finally get rid of his long-term obsession. Ted and Mary meet, and the detective’s lies finally come out…
